Integrationsagentur Herten (IA)

Since 2007 integration agencies for the concerns of people with a migratory history are promoted by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in sponsorship by the central association of the open welfare work.

The integration agency Herten is in sponsorship by the three welfare organizations: Arbeiterwohlfahrt Unterbezirk Münsterland-Recklinghausen, the Caritasverband Herten e.V. and the Diakonische Werk des Kirchenkreises Recklinghausen e.V..

Migration guidance for adults (MBE)

Since the immigration law came into force in January of 2005 there has been a uniform advisory service for migrants and late resettlers. The migration guidance for adults (MBE) ensures a nationwide basic offer of counseling. The “Haus der Kulturen” (house of cultures) offers the migration guidance for adults (MBE) as part of their activities in the migration social work.

Outreach parent work

Outreach parent work is when pedagogic specialists visit families. Through personal contact in a surrounding that is familiar to the family a trusting relationship can be built between the pedagogic specialists and the parents. This can then be used to make further support accessible.

Café Kumpel

Once a week male refugees and males who recently arrived in Germany meet at „Café Kumpel”. Café Kumpel focuses on the interests of the participants.

The project Café Kumpel tries to give refugees who had to leave their home country for different reasons the opportunity to talk to each other and show them long term options of making their everyday life diverse and interesting. One of the objectives of the meetings is showing educational opportunities, another is the interest related organization of leisure time.

Youth migration service (JMD)

The youth migration service (Jugendmigrationsdienst JMD) supports young people with a migratory background between the ages of 12 to 27 years by providing individual offers and professional support with their integration-processes in Germany. The youth migration services are suported by the federal ministry for family, senior citizens, women and youth (BMFSFJ).

Refugee guidance Herten

We offer the following range of services to refugees from Herten:

  • Individual case consultation for people going through the asylum procedures with a non-permanent or unsolved residence status
  • Information and orientation regarding integration related questions
  • Assistance with clarification of asylum- and residence permit questions
  • Assistance with administrative formalities
  • Discussion of professional/ occupational perspectives and qualification opportunities
  • Group offers regarding refugee-relevant topics

The federal program is divided into five areas. One of these is the „local partnership for democracy“.
